ALLIHIES

Allihies is located at the western tip of the Beara Peninsula, in Co. Cork. Facing the ocean, it is recognized by its ultra-colorful downtown.
The town has a particularly strong history when mining. It was one of the main copper extractors during the 19th century. The ruins of the mine are still visitable nowadays.

THINGS TO DO

– The annual Allihies Festival: It traditionally takes place on the 15th of August. it is a horse racing festival, organized on the plains, separating the village from the ocean. The festivities now extend through the week and feature music, bale tossing, and other events.

– Allihies Coper mine Trail: This is a hiking circuit, which will allow you to discover the old mining sites. It will offer you a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
The Museum: It is entirely devoted to the history of mining in the region. It allows to discover the history of the village and the daily miners of the time! More information
